In the aftermath of season 2 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” on NBC, the US and possibly much of the world would already know the name of Marcelito Pomoy. While the season 2 champion of “Pilipinas Got Talent” on ABS-CBN in 2011 did not win or place in the Top 3, he has already cemented a solid fan following thanks to his rare falsetto range that has gotten rave reviews for helping him do one-man duets. Pomoy himself is not that broken up about not becoming “world champion” for “Got Talent,” but it is just as well; he is busy enough with touring anyway.
According to The Philippine Star, Marcelito Pomoy is making preparations to go on a good long concert tour across the US in the middle of this year. Titled “The Voices of Marcelito,” the tour will quite obviously feature his falsetto voice in a variety of songs sung anywhere from male, to female soprano, to dual-tone for one-man duets. Pomoy announced the concert tour on his official Instagram page, where 13 American cities have been listed as his stops from June to August. In the comments Marcelito expressed his extreme gratitude for how quickly the tour was put together for him.
With Marcelito on his musical journey will be Joel Sebag, musical director and pianist specializing in inspirational playing. Concert stops include Tampa and Miami in Florida, four cities in California (San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Cabazon), New York, Washington DC and much more.
Pomoy also noted in another post that a video of his non-competition final performance on the finale of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” season 2 has become number 1 trending on YouTube. This was his collaborative rendition of “We Are the Champions” by Queen, alongside fellow finalists Hans (singer), Boogie Storm (dance group), Russian Bar (acrobats) and Duo Transcend (trapeze artists). Said video, on the Talent Recap channel, now counts over 3 million views and some 53,000 likes in stats. Marcelito would ultimately finish at 4th place (3rd runner-up) in the competition, V.Unbeatable, an acrobatic dance group hailing from India, being named the grand champion(s).
