Some pairings in showbiz just click like magic. In the instances of Kapamilya talents Coco Martin and Julia Montes, their chemistry together was first noticed in 2012 with the ABS-CBN teleserye “Walang Hanggan,” to the point that they could go toe to toe with costars chard Gomez and Dawn Zulueta. The following year their love team hit the big screen in “A Moment in Time,” and the year after that they were in another teleserye, “Ikaw Lamang.” Since Coco headlined “Ang Probinsyano” however, he and Julia have not been paired in another project, until now.

Inquirer.net reports that Coco Martin and Julia Montes may soon be returning to the big screen to remind fans that they are a solid pair. Their film project will be directed by indie filmmaker Brillante Mendoza, to be shot on location at scenic Oriental Mindoro. This detail was shared on social media by the production’s liaison on site, none other than the mayor of Pola municipality, Jennifer M. Cruz, better known in showbiz as actress Ina Alegre. Mayor Alegre actually met with Coco and Julia, and took them on a road tour of the filming location around Pola, which she posted on Facebook July 14.

“With Coco Martin and Julia Montes location familiarization,” wrote Alegre on her caption for photos of herself, Martin and Montes in a van during the tour. “Thanks Direk Brilliante Mendoza and Direk Bing…Shooting in Pola. I love Pola.” There are no further details on this upcoming film project, but it is certain to be in good hands with Mendoza, who has long collaborated with Coco in several indie movies since “Masahista” (2005), when Martin was still in his early teens. Of course, the actor remains the lead star of the determinedly ongoing teleserye “Ang Probinsyano,” viewable on Kapamilya Channel with simulcast on A2Z and TV5.
